The Art of Art: Draw, Then Paint!

                                   PAINTED PALETTE SUMMER STUDIO WEEK 2025

                                                         IS COMING JUNE 16-20!

                                 9:30AM-NOON  3RD-5TH Grade Students

                                     1-3:30 PM   6TH-8TH Grade Students

                                                     STUDENTS WILL LEARN:

                                         “THE ART of ART: DRAW, THEN PAINT”

Drawing Techniques- line, shading, simple perspective, color, various media in sketchbooks they will keep and use to make two paintings this week.

Approaches to drawing, then painting, various subjects, including outdoors! How to draw what they see and create interesting composition for their paintings.

MON. 6/16     Feathers, Fur, and Scales- line, value, shading techniques in black and          

                        white, then color. (Graphite pencils, fine line markers, colored  

                        pencils, markers)

TUES. 6/17     Art in A Park – meet at Ogden Gardens (Harrison Blvd. and Campbell) 

            Use a view finder, quick sketch, simple landscape perspective then a detail of 

                     a single flower. (Pencils, Markers)

WED. 6/18      Watercolor Day! Back in the studio to make watercolor paintings from 

                       sketchbook of choice. (Watercolor Pencils, Pans, & Liquid Color) 

THURS. 6/19 Art from A Park- meet at Central Park, Downtown Lincolnway, 

                        to draw a cityscape from the shops seen across the street using a view 

                       finder and simple perspective.

FRI. 6/20       Acrylic Painting on Canvas Day! Back in the Studio to use sketches 

                        of choice to create a painting.

                               All materials and refreshments included!
